Saturday, May 29, 2010 Kitsilano Summers Showcase Vancouver Real Estateby Jules Seaman on Sat, May, 29, 2010 07:33 PM Summer is finally here and for those who call Vancouver home there is nothing better. Vancouver residents live for this season, and with so many beaches and parks right downtown who wouldn’t? Cycling, mountain biking, running, golfing, swimming, boating – the list of activities is endless.
Kitsilano Living
One of the best neighbourhoods in which to enjoy this sun-filled season has to be Kitsilano. Loaded with beachfront real estate and peppered with funky cafes and shops, this Vancouver neighbourhood has been world-renowned since the 1970s. Kits Beach is home to the longest swimming pool in Canada, and from May until September this outdoor gem is filled with beautiful people in search of sunshine. The beach itself is surprisingly beautiful considering it is located just steps from downtown. The new bike lane that leads over Burrard Bridge from downtown enables one to capture spectacular sunsets over English Bay. For a more leisurely viewing, The Boathouse Restaurant on Kits Beach is a perfect place to people watch – and watch the sunset. Neighbouring Jericho Sailing club offers any number of water sport, while further down, Spanish Banks provides an even longer stretch of beach that invites barbecues and games of beach volleyball.
Eccentric 4th Ave. hosts many interesting shops and cafes, organic markets and yoga studios; it remains renowned for its laid-back vibe, yet appeals to young families as well. Every convenience is walking distance from wherever you are in Kitsilano, especially with Broadway, one of Vancouver’s main streets, just blocks away from 4th Ave. Kitsilano’s Broadway and Alma area is especially central. Close to UBC and Jericho Park, Beach and Yacht Club – as well as a jazz bar, pubs and countless cafes – listings in this gorgeous Vancouver neighbourhood always get snatched up quickly. Some of Vancouver’s prime real estate is in this area that borders prestigious Point Grey, yet the neighbourhood still manages to retain the relaxed Kitsilano vibe.
Fantastic Vancouver Real Estate
The stunning Collingwood Place exemplifies this combination of gorgeous Vancouver real estate coupled with a garden feel. The balconies and curved structure maximize light in this low-rise Vancouver condo complex. The suites themselves in Collingwood Place are a Vancouver realtor’s dream. Hardwood floors, open concept rooms boasting French doors that open onto charming balconies, and spacious, modern kitchens make these Vancouver homes an easy sell.
Yes, summer is here, and Kitsilano encompasses everything great about the season: relaxation, fun and outdoor activities. What better time than now to invest in prime Vancouver real estate just steps away from beaches and sidewalks filled with interesting finds?
Wednesday, May 5, 2010 Vancouver Real Estate Market in Bloomby Jules Seaman on Wed, May, 5, 2010 07:41 PM
Spring is in the air. The flowers are in bloom, the weather’s getting warmer, and all signs point to another sun-filled summer in Vancouver. With its proximity to countless parks, islands, mountains and lakes – not to mention the Pacific Ocean, beaches and endless patios right on our doorsteps – Vancouver is arguably the best place in the world to be, especially during the warmer months.
Vancouver Real Estate Market Spring 2010
Vancouverites are out in droves enjoying the first taste of what promises to be another epic summer, and it appears the Vancouver real estate market has also been hit with a case of spring fever. A constant flow of home buyers and sellers led to an increase in activity across the board this past April. April 2009 also saw increases in sales as the Vancouver real estate market began to recover from the recession, but this year’s exorbitant numbers demonstrate a steady upward trend that has advanced the Vancouver real estate market past recovery into growth. As the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver reports, sales of detached, attached, and apartment properties increased, making this the fifth-highest selling April on record. The same report also indicates the benchmark price of an attached unit has increased by 16.4% this last year, mirroring the 16.9% and 18.9% increases for apartment properties and detached properties, respectively.
Yaletown Living
Yaletown remains one of the foremost places to live in Vancouver, and one of the best places to enjoy the warm weather. Hamilton and Mainland Streets are littered with trendy restaurants and stylish boutiques, and wide promenades lined with comfortable patios invite patio-hopping and people watching. The vibe is always energetic and most places are within a four-block radius. Should you desire a longer walk, the seawall is step s away along with seaside cafes and a gourmet grocery store.
Yaletown showcases some of the best properties Vancouver real estate has to offer, and the Domus is no exception. Located at 1055 Homer between Nelson and Helmcken, these luxury condos feature stainless steel appliances, hardwood floors, and porcelain Italian sinks. The amenities include a furnished guest suite, training gym, yoga centre and an entertainment room with an adjoining garden. The crowning glory has to be the 27th floor penthouse. Custom re-designed, the 1966 sq ft 2 bedroom, 3 bathroom condo also has 842 sq ft of outdoor living space, home to an open-air grill and a hot tub from which one can enjoy the magnificent views. The Domus encompasses all that Yaletown living stands for: style, comfort, and sophistication.
As the temperature increases, so does our desire to entertain, and stunning Yaletown condos like those in the Domus are the perfect places in which to do so.
